Art and Apples Festival – Rochester, Michigan

A favorite of Art Show followers is the annual Art and Apples Festival held in Rochester Park, Rochester, MI. The festival will be celebrating its 46th year the weekend of Sept. 9-11, 2011. It has been named one of the Top 20 fine art festivals in the U.S. by Sunshine Artist Magazine.

As the second largest fine art festival in Michigan, Art and Apples boasts more than 265 artists from across the nation, showcasing a wide variety of mediums including textiles, clay, watercolor, woodworking, glass blowing, pottery, jewelry, photography and more.

During the festival, each artist’s work will be evaluated by an on-site jury. The top scoring artists will receive cash prizes based on design, execution, and aesthetic appeal of the work, as well as booth presentation. Up to a third of the highest scoring artists will be invited to participate in the 2012 festival as Jury Exempt Artists.

The festival features the popular Kids Art and Activity Zone which are hands-on areas for kids to participate in.  Non-stop entertainment will be provided by regional performers including choreographed dance, Rochester’s Paul Green’s School of Rock and performances by all three Rochester area high school bands.

With three food courts, there will be no shortage of delicious food. This year, food courts will feature Greek specialties, Asian favorites from Golden Gate, barbeque from Redwood Grill, All-American hot dogs and lemonade, ice cream and much more.
